Exclamation unable to SEND from POP @ custom domain name

I am having a terrible time trying to SEND email from a pop account with a customized domain name. I can recieve just fine, but am unable to send.

I have a plain old comcast account that I can send AND receive from just fine, but this custom domain name account can only receive.

I've read some other threads, and none of the configurations they suggest seem to work for this unique problem with a custom domain name.

here's my settings
incoming mail: customname.com
outgoing mail: smtp.comcast.net
domain name: comcast.net

I've gone through all the "options" of SSL and Authentication, and none of them seem to work, but only vary the error messages I receive. I'm unable to achieve an SSL connection (I think this is my biggest clue).

HELP!

Try leaving the domain name out. Sometimes you just don't need to specify the domain. I did it with my SBC pop account and it works fine. :) You may also want to check the SMTP(outgoing) mail server address just to be sure.
