Omega Battery Pack 2K . . . . . . . Incorect Time remaining/estimated indicator

I've been using Omega Battery Pack for some time now. It's a probably one of the most usefull Today plugins I used . . . . HOWEVER, has anybody noticed that the battery meter always reads 2H 40M and that the estimated ON timer doesn't really work ???

I've tryed leaving my axim switched on to see if the thing learns from the battery life, but this still doesn't change. I now take my axim to work and listen to my mp3's all day, but i still get 2H 40M when fully charged. No sure if this is related but sometimes when I switch the axim off the timer resets, but there dosen't seam to be any sort of patern ???

I've been using this software since I got my Axim around 3 months ago and its not really changed much. I installed the software on my old Jornada 548 and it works a dream !!!!!

Any Ideas...........am I being dence?

System setup

Screen - 1 below middle
Main Volume - 3/4 WMP Volume - Full with headphones
Processor - Auto

There're quite a few threads on this. Every time they say it's fixed it doesn't seem to be. I use the percentage remaining instead of time. It seems to be a little more accurate.

Haven't heard of a fix or anything yet

For what it's worth, Pocket PC Plus's battery remaining has the same exact problem.

Just put battery bar to one side, and let Omega One sort it out... eventually. I've been waiting for a year.

Don't forget them posting every time they release an update that they fix it. Omega One is a scam. They charge for freeware apps and then don't deliver on their promises.

BatMemTime v3.3.7b

Got fed up waiting on Omega One, switched of their battery/memory plugin and i'm now using BatMemTime v3.3.7b.

Quick Review........

Pro's
------------
Very Informative. Monitor the following with just a quick glance
Main Battery
backup Battery
Program memory
Ram
Built-in storage uage
SD card
CF Card
time since last soft/hard reset
manual Uptime meter
time since last sync
good estimated time remaining (well as good as can be expected)
Change colours to match today screen

Con's :crooked:
------------
automatic battery uptime has the same "Charging" reset problem as all the others
Voltage ????? WHY!! dosn't work anyway
MESSY layout
UGLY UGLY UGLY
MESSY layout
UGLY UGLY UGLY
MESSY layout

Oh.... did I mension ugly !!

Conclusion

Tom Gigear writer of BatMemTime should hire the graphic designer from Omega One and turn his wonderfully informative FREE app into a wonderfully informative graphicaly impressive FREE app.

But untill that happens or Omega One remove their hands from what must now be VERY deep pockets and Fix their software "BECAUSE I PAID FOR IT" or till some mad Prof. really does manage to make pigs fly......

I'll be using BatMemTime v3.3.7b

I too have been through the Battery Pack Trap. I am now using PowerLevel III by scarybear software. Has some of the same features as BatteryPack including shortcut icons. Does not estimate battery time remaining, just the precentage.

In the screen shot you have a bluetooth symbol in the lower right. Do you have a bluetooth card in or what is that doing there?

Cool

Grentz.. I've got a Socket Bluetooth CF Card installed and a 512SD card for loads of storage. The BT card is a bit of a permenant installation as my only other CF card is a 1Gb Microdrive (which I never use).

I've attached some screenshots for your info

I just switched battery pack to show battery percentage. Seems more accurate and less bouncy. Solved my problem, 5 or 7 minutes left doesn't do much for me, I'm ok with x% remaining

Backup battery issue?

Ugh. I kinda like BatteryPack, but I just uninstalled it, was wondering if anyone has the same problem:

Incorrectly reports my backup battery status.

Specifically it reports it at 100% then over a couple of hours drops it to 80%, 60% and then 40% while my main battery is still in the 90%+ range (!). Of course it sets off all my alarms and freaked me out for a couple of days. Meanwhile, the WM2003 battery meter reports it as "Normal", now that I've uninstalled it.

By the way, I'm using an X3i with the rechargable backup battery. Oh well...

I gave up on BPP. As long as I run BPP and their program launcher, everything seems to run ok. If you have any additional today plug-ins (Pocket weather, pocket breeze, etc) things start acting weird.

BPP looks cool. iLauncer with Wisbar advance is better.

All of the versions of Powerlevel from ScaryBear Software have free updates. Just download the latest version and use the same registration code that you got when you made your first purchase. It works for me.
