MSN Messenger Problem

Just updated to PPC2003, everything looks fine except for MSN Messenger. Got the famous current version message, so I went to install the update. Got a dialog box asking did I want to uninstall the update. Thought about it and finally said yes & let it uninstall the update. Ran the setup program again and now it says it is installing it. But, when I tap to start the messenger service nothing happens at all.

I know I cannot uninstall & reinstall messenger itself, so kinda confused on what to try next.

Have an AXIM5, WCF12 card, and the beta drivers seem to work fine for AIM & IE.

If your messenger update seems to be installed on your pocket pc
but wont work, "the service is not compatible" Fault, try this
make sure that you have installed the update,
go to
C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\PPC 2003 - MSN (R) Messenger Update

copy the files msmsgs8.cab and msmsgs8.ini

and paste them into the pocket pc via activesync

on the pocketpc open file explorer and find the files

tab the cab file and now it should work

my problem was that the opgrade seems to be installed,
but never went to the pocket pc
