Remove "New" menu item that is old

Hi-

I tried installing a trial version of Text Maker and I then uninstalled it but there is still a "Text Maker Document" option when I click on New in the bottom left. When I tap it nothing happens but I would like to remove it if at all possible. I have a registry editor and I deleted some strings and keys but then when I clicked on new it froze my ppc 2003 everytime. So I restored my axim but now I am trying to see if anyone knows how to remove that document or what registry keys I need to edit. Thanks!

You should be able to stop seeing the option in the new menu pop up if you go to start>settings>menu>new menu (tab at bottom) then untick the relevant box

Thanks - that did it. I feel really dumb now, I didn't remember seeing those setting there.
