Pocket Informant??
I am in trial version on Pocket Informant. So far I really like.
Does anyone have any comments - pro or con??
I have found that when syncing this PIM with Desktop Outlook - that after the next sync - any birthdays double in Pocket Informant. I emailed vendor and they said to dis-able the birthday option in PI, however, if I do this, yes the birthdays do not double, however, the birthdays can only be stored in Windows contacts. If I put the birthday in PI, after two syncs it doubles again.
If you have had simuliar issues, please respond or send me email.
Thanks.

I wish 1 of the 50+ people had the answer to this. I am considering Pocket Informant, but I would like to avoid this problem. New version maybe?

Sounds like you received an answer from the developers directly! Whether or not you LIKE the answer is another story. :(

I use Pocket Informant and I've never had the issue you seem to have. You might want to check out their support forums and see if there is anything related to your problem.

I had the same problem you did at first, but once I disabled the birthday setting in PI everything has worked fine for me. After that I just created a reoccurring appointment for each birthday. It was a bit of a pain, but it works fine for me now. I have found PI to be the most valuable piece of software I have purchased for my axim. Between that and the related today screen plugin I have become significantly more productive at work, and have had fewer problems than I did with Task+ or calendar+. I would reccomend it to anyone.

First lets discuss the syncing issue. Pocket Informant is only using the data already on your Ax. It does not create its own database nor does it massage any of your data. If you were to remove Pocket Informant from your Ax, I strongly suspect you would still see a doubling of the birthdays. But, before you do that, try a soft reset if you haven't already done so.
Now, Pocket Informant. I have been using it for almost a year. I love the program. It does everything I want it to do. I have never had any issues with it causing my Ax to crash. It is feature rich. Having said that, there is another application you might like to try. Agenda Fusion by Developer One is similar and in many many ways, alike. I have tried both, own licenses to both and when AF comes out with a new version, I try it, just to make sure I still like PI better. I'm still using PI.
Agenda Fusion has just come out with a nice upgrade. PI has said they will have a totally new version this month. Personally, I am anxious to see what more they could do.
A suggestion - AF and PI both have 30 day free trials. Do yourself a favor and try both.
AF costs a few dollars more than PI and I can't find a reason for it. Perhaps you can.

I can't help with the double birthday thing -- I have done what you said you did, but didn't have the “double” problem you have.
I love PI. I am not a power user of a PIM, but even so PI is a great help and productivity booster for me. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

I use PI - not to its fullest extent - and I haven't had the problem mentioned either.
