I've tried the remote from www.pdawin.com and it doesn't work with any of my TVs (they are GE and magnavox) can anyone find one that works with these two systems.
I've tried the remote from www.pdawin.com worked for all my components don't have GE or magnavox.
Two things I did not like
Had to program every single function
Limited distance

I can not get either of the above programs to work with any of my equipment( sony/rca/et all) - something rather bizarre is going on - I trained the remote program with the original remotes - no go - not even with the axim a couple of inches away from the IR window on the device. I then took the Axim and used the remote program to train a learning remote that I had - the learning remote worked like a charm. I am completely stumped on this one. I am wondering if there is something out of whack with the IR on my Axim.
By the way - the paid version of TV Remote is the same as the demo - minus the nag screen and time out.
Just installed TV Remote and Ultramote on my AXIM. Got about a 6 foot range with both so really not usable. Also installed on my IPAQ 3835 , could only get about a four foot range with it.
Found this thread on another site
I did not see support for Axim yet and the product looks expensive but if you are looking for the ultimate remote control take a look at this.
I downloaded pdawin but it didn't have any of my brands. So i figured i would uninstall it. But it wouldn't let me and i couldn't just delete the files. Is there something im missing i do i get this off my Axim?
Ultramote "learns" your existing remotes, so brand shouldn't matter. They also sell a CF IR transmitter which extends the range. The range on the IR port on the Axim is limited. The 6 ft range someone mentioned earlier is pretty accurate. The extender should fix that problem. I think it's like $40 for the full version of Ultramote and the CF IR card.... Not too bad.
I had the same problem, all i did was ensure that the icon wasn't in the last programs list (5 icons @ the top of the start menu) and did a soft reset, then uninstalled it. This worked fine for me, hope it works for you.

Don't hold your breath for a fix:crooked:
The "Griffen" version mentioned above does not work with the Axim due to some problem with the sterio jack?????
Go to their site and look under FAQs.
The Ultramote with the CF adapter looks awesome but I have not heard anyone say how far it extends the signal.

According to Ultramote's comparison PDF, the range is extended up to 50 feet. Clearly your mileage may vary, but even if you only get half that distance, you are well ahead of the game.

Please, don't ask for free software/serials on this forum.....stuff like that is what gets problems started with bulletin boards, and why many eventually have to cease existing. I know that being a college student is tough on money, but I am also a college student and I can scrape up $14.99 for software every now and then. Having a good programming background, I can assure you that the developer's of software like Ultramote and PDAwin need something to make it worth their while to continue to improve their products. Even though $14.99 doesn't seem like much that they'd be losing, it adds up as more and more people begin to copy their stuff. So just get up the $15 and order it. This way, the AximSite forum stays legit, and the developers will continue to improve their remote software to incorporate more features that we are ALL looking for. Thanks.
