Hi, does anyone if and where I could find a graphing calculator that would work on my X3i? If so, I would prefer that it were less than $90-$100, because that is about what the TI-83 Plus costs. Any calculator I got would have to be equivilent to a TI-83 Plus, and I may not even be able to use another kind in my class. Thanks for any help.
Check out their SpaceTime application. It is the best graphing calculator application on the market, and is the most equivalent to the TI-8x models.

It sure looks like a great calculator (especially for $30), but it says that it has ALMOST all of the TI-83's abililties (I also need an 83 PLUS), not all of them. It might work fine. Maybe I can download the demo and ask my instructor if it will work okay.
The second link (the emulator one) looks interesting, but I don't really understand. Is it free, and do they provide all of the software needed, or do you need other stuff too?
I've been trying to work with the TI-83 plus emulator, but with the older version I'd downloaded I had trouble getting the ROM wizard to see the ROM on my calculator. I think it may be that the older version of VTI did not recognize my USB connection to the calucalator. I'm hoping this newer version will, and I can't wait to try it tonight.
I'd love to have this on my Axim, and I'd love to be able to use it for in-class demos in the algebra class I teach.

You don't. You hook the calculator up to your computer via a TI link cable.

There are none on TI's site that you can use for this. And it's illegal to copy a ROM from somewhere other than you own calculator, so if anyone knows of places to download them, do not post anything about it on Aximsite.
Basically, you have to have a TI-8x or TI-9x calculator and a Calculator-to-PC link cable (serial, parallel, or USB). There are utilities out there that will let you backup your TI calculator's ROM image to your computer. You would then copy this image over to the TI emulator's folder on your Axim.

You need to put the ROM you copy from your calculator to your desktop in the same directory as VTI on the pocket pc (Program Files\VTI TICalc Emulator I think, I've uninstalled from mine til I get more RAM)
how do you put get the rom off of your ti-83 plus silver edition calculator? I have the software conect 1.3 from texas instruments, but can't figure it out.

also, that is not the rom for the ti-89, that is just the operating system.
Edit:ok, I think I know how to get the rom. I'm running a program now that should be doing this for me. I hope it works, had to get out the old black cable to use it though. So used to my silver usb cable almost forgot I had a com port, lol.
