Worried Landscape Mode for IE???

Hello Hello
First time poster
First time pocket pc owner

I own a X3i and was wondering if there was any program out there that enabled you to use Internet Explorer in landscape mode. I found one for about $20 (http://www.nyditot.com/NVDPage.asp)
but if you messed around with the settings too much you can get into very big trouble and have to hard reset your machine. I just would like to have something simple to switch when I am browsing or when I am in word or excel. Any imput is greatly appreciated. Thanks

There's also JS Landscape from www.jimmysoftware.com. I use Nyditot, but I never had to do a hard reset (only a soft reset to get the display back into proper portrait mode).

Oops, looks like JS Landscape for WM2003 is not out yet. It's only available for Pocket PC2002.

NYDITOT Question

So when you want to use the landscape mode what are the correct screen dimensions so that is comes out perfect (no blank space on the left, good resolution, and normal sized text). Also what program do you use landscape mode for the most? Thanks again.

I try not to mess around too much with the settings. I just use 320x240. And I only use it for web surfing using PIE with a text size setting of "Larger".

Many applications are written for the 240x320 dimensions. This means that sometimes controls will be off the screen and scroll bars may not appear. But I find PIE seems to behave relatively well in landscape mode.

Also, the next version of the Windows Mobile OS will feature the ability to switch to landscape and change the screen resolution.

Next OS

When do they expect the next Operating system to arrive and where can I find more information about that. It might not be worth the $20 if I can get it for free from Microsoft. What do you think, worth purchasing OR worth waiting? Also, is it easy to upgrade to a newer operating system?

Larger screen sizes and screen rotation was talked about at PDC 2003. If I had to bet, it probably won't be out until around the Longhorn (next generation of Windows) timeframe--which is around 2006. So you probably don't want to wait around for it.

There are three landscape programs - Nyditot, JS Landscape and dotPocket. The early versions of all three had severe problems with Axims. I believe that Nyditot has now been sorted out for Axims. When I tried JS Landscpape it completely froze my Axim and required a hard reset. I then removed it quickly !

I use the latest version of dotPocket which works perfectly for me. There is a version available for WM 2003. It is currently on offer for $15 for Aximsite users from www.dotpocket.com. It will also allow you to display your Axim screen on your PC and control the Axim using the PC mouse or keyboard.

A very nice program which I recommend.

I installed dotPocket and it works great, except that I don't know how to just have IE in landscape. Is this possible? I want to use portrait for everything besides IE (so transcriber will work).

Do these other apps. allow this?
Any ideas?

are there any for free? I used to have a free program that changed the screen to landscape, but it only works with ppc 2002. Now that I upgraded to 2003 I can't use landscape anymore. The program I had by the way was the pockettop keyboard driver(i know, a driver more than a program, but it worked). If there is a version of this driver that works with wm2003, can somone please post it or PM me?
