Writing Quick Reminders

On my old Palm IIIxe, I had installed a simple little program called "Doodle Pad" that allowed me to write quick reminders and set a time function (date and time or countdown) for when that reminder would pop up on the screen.

I can't seem to find a way to do this with Pocket PC or through a simple app. Has anyone figured out how to do this or know of a software package that will perform this function?

Thanks!

Take a look at "Bugme." Used it for years on my IIIxe and before that my PalmPro. They also have an application for the PocketPC.

You probably won't find anything just like the Palm. If you like Pocket Informant or Agenda Fusion (developerone.com), they both support alarm notes. Although they would be pricey if you look at them only for this purpose. Both have free trial versions -- full feature, but expire in a couple of weeks.

Another possibility is to just set a calendar appointment. They have a notes section.

I've used Pocket Informant for about a year now, and it was one of the best software investments I made.

As mentioned, PI has alarm notes, which I use several times a day, for those little reminders. The calender, contacts and other features are also much, much better than the standard date book. If you have a busy schedule and use your PPC to keep you on track, take a good look at PI.

Although I have not used Agenda Fusion, I have heard that it is also a good program. There are a couple of reviews out there that put them head-to-head.

I have Agenda Fusion and love it. It does have the alarm note feature but I really prefer Bugme for this.

Thanks for everyone's input.

The BugMe software is very similar to the Doodle Pad software I had on my Palm. But I have to say I was spoiled with the Palm's level of freeware compared to the Pocket PC.

For $19.95, I'll plaster a sticky note on my Axim Case! :)
