Question Free options other than FILE EXPLORER, able to view home lan?

Well I tried the demo of Rescoe File Explorer and its great but too bad its a demo.

I am looking for another option to the FILE EXPLORER that will enable me to view my home network, share files and possibly play my MP3's that are on another pc from my Axim.

Thanks.

A few people recommended NETRUNNER and NET USE but so far I do not know how to set it up.

Anyone can point me in the right direction?

As in NET USE and RUNNER:

Local name: ????

Remote path: ???? \\ What do I put here?

work group is: HOME

i now use total commander for accesing files over a lan connection. You can do this using the built in explorer too, but the only way i can get it to use the files is if i transfer them to my pda first, then use the file. Since you were using resco explorer, when you said map the network it should have given you something like \\(name goes here)
the demo version will still let you do this even if it is expired. Now in total commander, at the top of the screen type in \\(name goes here) and you will see all the directories from your network. If you need clarification, feel free to PM me or post on here again.

sorry 'bout that. What appears after the \\ when you map your network? It is supposed to be your computers name I believe, at least, that is how it works with mine. (name goes here) means whatever shows up after the \\ in resco explorer goes there. Sorry I forgot to specify earlier.:p

I tried using all the pcs in my home // and their name, I get a VPN error.

did you used to be able to access your computers with resco explorer? If so, do you remember what names appeared when you used it? Try reinstalling resco and mapping your drive. You can also find the correct name by going to My Network Connections and then local workgroup computers. Did you have the slashes as // or \\. I think it makes a difference. You posted // when it should be \\. And I don't know much about VPN either, not sure how that works with different programs.

Hey hey I finally got it to work, not sure really how but I am using GS Player 2 and Netrunner 0.1. I tried the \\ with the proper name, changed some settings and added ip range on my router so my PPC will join the lan with no problem.

I started GSPlayer 2 it searched the whole damn folder which got me worried since I have almost like 30GB's of just mp3's. The funny looking dial kept ticking and next thing you know its playing my music. woohooo if i can only make playlists and play this through my stereo.
