Mad Synchronization Error

I have checked the forums and not found my answer yet.

Here's my situation.

Desktop : Windows XP with ActiveSync 3.7.1
Axim X5 with ROM vA04

My Axim will get connected but will give a message "synchronization error" in ActiveSync window. I can explore the Axim from the desktop using File>Explore etc because it's connected.

So, I figured it was something with outlook. I then deleted by outlook.ost file (thinking it was corrupted somehow). Then opened outlook and found that a new .ost file was created upon outlook synchronization. This made the AXIM synchronize again and everything was fine and dandy.

The next day, I got the error again.

Here's what I have found that works but it is very painful.

If I delete the .ost file and recreate it - it works but I don't want to do this everyday.

If I do a soft reset it works - but again I don't want to do this everyday.

Any ideas and help to resolve this issue would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kozi

Hmm...definitely sounds like an Outlook syncing issue. What version of Outlook are you using?

Hmm...supposidly Activesync should syncronize with Outlook 2000, however works the best with Outlook 2002 or Office Outlook 2003. With your Axim Companion CD, it comes with Outlook 2002. I would definitely recommend upgrading. It shouldn't affect your current Outlook settings. :-)
