RSS & Todayplus

Im running todayplus and I tried puting in a URL for the RSS feed and still no news in the news area. Please help if you can. I may not have config. right.

you grabbed the html address after you clicked on the XML link right?

Did you update Todayplus yet? Sometimes it took like 30 minutes before the feed finally got into my x3i but that was only in one instance.

Here try this feed and tell me if it works....

Again thank you! I found my problem ( no patience ). By the time I get to sit down and work on things like this my 8 year old has used all of it. Fooled around with it last night, and when I got back to it this morning it was updated. It did take some time.
I did not want to bug you after you had uploaded that skin for me.

Hey man,

Did you published or spread the "recombinant" (with moon) skin? I want the edit the skin file but it is "messed" up, though it does work. What editor was used?

Mainly I have to adjust the HH:mm (military time) and the "F" into "c"

Futher I like to know how I can get the RSS (iam a big fan of RSS) working with this skin" I mean what icon to push to update the RSS

The skin was made by rbg08 with parts of somebodyelse from the dark-mojo forum.

Arn't you early? What state are you in?

Ok there are a few places that have to be changed for the F to c. The first place you change is in the TodayPlus config in the tab that says "Weather/RSS change your cities to metric. There is a check box.

Next open your skin file using notepad or word, and edit all the locations that refer to the temperature from the f to a c. They are not hard to find. There are a few in the top of the skin and then a bunch in the weather section.

Now for the time: change HH:mm to hh:mm or hh:mmt to add the A or P for AM or PM.

To set up RSS it is done in the config file on your Axim. In the same location you changed the weather. Just add a legitimate RSS feed, there are many out there.

I don't use AM/PM I am in Holland so we use 24 hour clocks so HH:mm

I changed my city already ofcourse when I start using the "Recombinant" skin.
I also setup the RSS but it isn't working cos I don't know how the data is refreshed using what button if I want to do it manuallly

Took me alittle to find it as well. When you are on the main tab, look at the updated: --:-- spot right under the date(may have a time next to it meaning that was the last time you updated). Just tap a couple times on that updated: --:-- text and it will change color meaning it is updating. When it is done updating it will go back tot he original color. Be sure you are connected to the net before tapping it.

That will be a .02 cents charge that can be transfered through paypal :p

Right I am connected via wifi. But isn't the ---|--- for the weather only because I don't get any news on my news tap?

Now you also can tap the name of the RSS newslink its changes color too but doesn't give me any updated news?

The --:-- is for everything, but if you still have the --:-- then it has never updated, it will show a time when it updated if it updated. Usually takes a minute or so the first time you connect. Also tapping the rss feed name updates everything including all the rss feeds and the weather. Has your waether ever updated? If you think it updated but don't see anything in the weather page click the arrow right under the time tab. That will slide you over to the next weather page if you have more then one city listed but in this case it will take you to your city.

Nope, I don't have the --:-- anymore. Yes my weather is being updated.
I have Tallahassee, FL as second under the time tab, just because a girlfriend is living there.

I have two RSS feeds which are correct links, tested out with PocketFeed. But I don't see any subjects I can click on?

I just put in those two that didn't work for you and they worked for me.

Only thing i can think of is did you select how many pages to cache for the rss feed? I selected to display 10 and to refresh every 30 minutes.

Well I solved it last night. I had invoked only the link as "www.spitsnet.nl/RSS" but that's isn't enough. The program likes to see the "http://" in the front of it

I changed it and got my news now:)
