I have to use outlook express for online learning with the University of Phoenix Online. If I install the Outlook 2000 will it blow away my outlook express newsgroups and email? Or does O2K have newsgroup functions that I can use for school? As to sync, can newsgroup posts be synced so I can do school on my Axim? Thanks yall.

Outlook has most of the features of outlook express, it does not provide news group services.

Outlook will import your OE settings without any trouble and should be able to do all your email checking for you.

I believe if you do not set up any mail accounts in Outlook, it cannot download any mail.

If it annoys you if it tries to connect (through the default setting that says "check for new mail every ___ minutes) just put that figure up to 60 minutes or so.

They are two entirely separate programs with an annoying similar name. I have had both Outlook and OE on my computers and they do not interfere with each other unless you happen to open both up while on line if you have both programs set to retrieve mail.
