Question Pocket Informant And Outlook Help

two things with the following parameters:

I can not sync at work, but I use Outlook for tasks and appointments on my work machine. (They won't allow the software to SYNC to be installed.)

1. Is there a way to integrate my tasks and appointments into my AXIM anyway? I use Pocket Informant.

2. I have the 2004 Red Sox schedule as a .csv Excel file. I've integrated it into my Outlook on my desktop, but I was wondering if there was a way - barring that the above won't work, to get PI to use the .csv file to create appointments for each game as I have done on my desktop.

Thanks

Yo,

I don't know about Tasks, but there should be a long way around for getting appointments and contacts from your desktop to your Axim.

Apparently WM2003 supports "vCard and vCal files" - usually sent as email attachments, representing a single outlook Contact or Calendar Appointment, respectively. So, if you have WM2003, and a desktop version of Outlook that supports vCard & vCal, then export each of your contacts and appointments (including those Red Sox games) on your desktop to these types of files, transfer them to your Axim, and open them with explorer. They should be imported into your pocket outlook applications.

I have never done this, but it is a theoretically solution for you to try. Let us know if it works!

problem is I have WM2002 on an Axim X5 @ 300 MHz.

I tried looking at them as vCalender, iCalender and Outlook templates, but neither worked.

I'd especially like to mass add them. Pocket Informent allows for importing of .xml files, but I don't know what they are.

.XML are Extended Markup Language files. XML is often used in creating webpages.

The easiest way to see an XML file, is go into Pocket Informant, and then export your Calendar to a .XML file in your /My Documents folder. Then just go into your Active Sync folder on your Desktop PC, and you can view it there by clicking on it.

One solution is to just import your .CSV file into Outlook on your home PC. Then it will automatically be copied into your Pocket PC, and will be viewable in Pocket Informant.
