Installing WinZip on x3i

I've tried all of the obvious routes, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to get WinZip onto the x3i. What works? Or is there a better way to open zipped files?

WinZip, or any Windows (regular PC) application for that matter, will not work or even install on a PocketPC. You'll need a zip utility that is actually designed for the PocketPC platform. I know that the Resco Explorer file manager is able to handle zip files, and I'm sure there are probably other utilties out there as well. Handango can be your best friend. :)

I can recommend the unzip facility in Resco Explorer. The other facilities make it a good buy.

The best freeware file explorer I've yet seen (and I've tried all of them, I think) is TotalCommanderCE. Among other very useful features, it offers ZIP/unZIP capability, supporting subfolders and a range of compression levels. No support for encryption/decryption though, nor archive verification. Resco Explorer with ZIP, FTP, and registry plugins, is definitely a more capable program.

i also think, resco file explorer is the best way to go. it includs routines to zip/unzip and even crypt files. you can connect to ftp-servers, your network and edit your registry - many features that make it a good buy.

Yeah, Pocket RAR is very good. Not only it's free, but it handles both zip and rar archives.
