Total Commander/Resco File Manager

Just installed Total Commander and it does everything the default File Explorer doesn't do. It seems to be stable and well designed.

Someone please let me know what I am missing out on by using Total Commander instead of Resco.

Thanks!!

Good post. I use Total Commander, too, and I really like it. But, I know many people LOVE Resco Explorer 2003.

Please fill us in!

I'm using Total Commander both on my PC's and Axim. I don't really care what I'm missing with RESCO because TC is FREE and I can do with it whatever I want to do.
Regards.

I've tried Resco, and TC alltogher. TC is really good. Resco is good too. They both have the same features, basically. Resco may look flashier, but TC isn't so "High up" on graphics, and it actually runs better that way. Stick with TC. It's the much better choice

Resco has a few more features:

(1) Automatic shared network detection.

(2) Built-in Ftp browser

(3) Encryption

(4) Built-in Registry editor

I have to disagree with danielfeveryear, I find Resco to be significantly faster in copying/moving files and much better in compression with the zip option.

I used TC for quite some time before purchasing Resco.

For me, the purchase was worth it, especially the network detection feature.

Thanks so far folks.

So, I take it TC is a capable app (I had nothing on the PPC to compare it to, I am a recent Palm convert!). Sounds like Resco might have some additional features, but TC is freeware and does everything I'd like a file manager to do.

OK, it's a keeper!

I have used both TC and Resco and find that I prefer Resco. It has some features that I regularly use that TC does not have. Still, choices are good to have.

As to your ringtone issue: is it in ROM? You will be unable to delete a ROM file.

AKA, thanks for the quick response. i think I will give Resco a try too.

thanks for the confirm also. i'm ok, I did however, hope that TC or Resco could edit ROM file / properties. but I can also see the danger in doing so.

I know this thread is quite old, but Total Commander also includes a registry editor and FTP browser

AFAIK the only way to alter ROM, regardless of device or platform, is to reflash the ROM. Hence the acroymn Read Only Memory.

I use GSFinder just because it is similar to the xp file explorer and offers quite a few features as well, almost comparable to Total Commander.

Ditto here on GSFinder. Been using it for almost 2 years on a daily basis.
