If your anything like me you need a file manager all the time. Isn't it strange that we should have to even ask the question? I mean, the WM2003 file manager just takes up useful OS space if you ask me. :D
I use TC all the time. Unless you really need the functionality of a single user interface, I think cjradek is right. The value of TC ($free$) is hard to beat

I have been using TC since I got my axim and have been please with it. I think I want something nicer to look at and something with all those features integrated instead of having to install other things.

To me, Total Commander is the choice. Not just it's free but it's very intuitive...
one thing that TC lack is the networking ability - but thats pretty much it. Oh, and the commander series's dual list feature is the catch here :)

One thing about Resco File Explorer, is...when I went to try it, I never saw any FTP add-in, and saw it mentioned on their site, but nowhere does it actually have it.
Did I miss something? :)

I have used TC for some time and love the two panel view to drag and drop things. I had a lot of trouble trying to make shortcuts though. Now I have Resco Explorer (I bought the utility package mostly because I liked their Picture Viewer), making shortcuts is a snap! I find I use both depending on the task.

I think TC is a great app that does everything I need on a PPC including connecting to shared network drives for use of files and folders (not exactly mapping but pretty close and much better than the built-in file explorer).
ksejrs, isn't a full working version of Resco Picture Viewer still included on the Dell CD that comes with the Axim?
For anyone that may be interested in creating shortcuts in TC, find the executable file and tap it to highlight. Then select "File" from the bottom toolbar, >>>>>, Create shortcut, and fill in the location you want it or use the "Tree" function to find your way to it (or use the Double Window mode).

I think you can't expect TC to have all the options Resco has, because the first one is free.
Make a choice, pay for some extra options of get it for free with a few options less. TC is already a long time player with their TC for to PC which isn't free.
But there's another alternative, not many know off. Though it isn't under development anymore and that's too bad. This could really have been a compatitor to Resco for sure!
I tested this using PPC2000/2002 and it worked fine, but some options weren't working
Get it here
edit:it also works with wm2003 just tried it.
Enjoy.
Peace,
Henk.

Did you install it from their pocket PC site? If so, this is a limited version. Download the latest version from Handango via your PC, and the registry viewer should be included.
