Most accurate battery monitor?
Anyone know what the most accurate batter monitor is?
I have facelift and batterypack and they usually give me different values

Good question. (I wish I knew the answer.) I use Battery Pack 2003 and Pocket Plus and they give me different readings, too.

Battery Pack 2003 never shows more than 2h 42m remaining on mine when it is 100% charged.
It's inaccurate all right!
What about the rest of you Battery Pack 2003 users....what does your's say?

I would expect that it would be a hardware issue.
I mean that the hardware must have a circuit for obtaining a battery reading. If that circuit is not calibrated correctly then the software SHOWING the reading would be display an erroneous reading right?

The battery remaining scale is supposed to be adaptive, learning from use to improve the estimate, but it's so worthless as to be a joke. If you had to set something like this up, would you pick 2 hr 43 min as the default? The worst part is that a soft reset seems to undo the learning process.
The default should be 8 hours or something similar.

So then I assume that I am not alone with the 2h 42m remaining @100% charged readings ?
I'm not really concerned about it...I really bought Battery Pack 2003 for the Program Bar, which allows custom program links and scrolls for more icons in a smaller space.

I just purchased BatteryPack yesterday after using the trial for a couple of weeks. It was showing 2h 42m with a 100% charge this morning. While I was using the trail version though I let the battery run down below 50% just to see what happens and sure enough the battery time showing with 100% charge after that was 6+ hours. I don't remember exactly what it showed but it did change because of the change in battery use. This shows me that BatteryPack is adaptive and learns from use to improve the estimate. The key word being estimate which is all any of these programs can provide. As far as how it reacts after a softreset I can't say because I hadn't done one while I was using the trial version.

Sorry, I thought you meant as far as battery percentage, not the estimated time left.

I've only used the trial version of Battery Pack 2003, but it has been great at "estimating" the battery life (in time left). No problems here, when I first started using it I think it started at about 3 hours or so and I was concerned. But after a couple hours, it started moving up and now it is pretty consistent with about 8-9 hours when fully charged. I use my Axim all the time too and it seems to be pretty accurate.
That's my input,

What time??
My BattPack is retail version and show either 5hrs 38m or if I tap this, it toggles to 3hr 20m at 85% charge. I have the stock battery.
What are these two different times for? Is it estimating the different processer speed settings? Brightness settings?

Check the letter next to the time. If it's an "r" then it's time remaining on the battery. If it's an "e" that's elapsed time from your last charge. It even shows time left to full charge while you have the Axim charging.

I also had this problem and then I decided to read the help file. The Battery Bar instructions state that if you keep your ppc fully charged all the time it will take longer to generate an accurate battery time remaining. The help file also states to let your device discharge a little (down to 50-60% batt. life) once or twice to fix this.
If all else fails, read the instructions.:)

I must admitt, I havnt really wore down my battery yet. I usually put it back in the cradle with 70 - 80 % battery left. Today I had it play mp3s all day and ran it down to 15% and charged it back up only to have it read 2h 42m again. I'll run it down again tomorrow as maybe it'll take a few times for it to learn.
I went to their web site and it turns out this is a FAQ
http://www.omegaone.com/FAQ.html#BB1
Also learned they offer free alternate sound files:
-Alternate female voice
-Simpsons sound files
-South Park sound files
-Star Trek sound files
-Star Trek: The Next Generation sound files

Well, I had the Axim on the charger all day at work and now that I have it at home it is acting flakey. For some odd reason it is showing an elapsed time of 59h 44m. The time remaining is showing 2h 27m. I'm not sure what is going on but I didn't have this problem with the trial version. Weird...
One good thing, I guess, is that both the Pockect Facelift monitor and the BatteryPack monitor show the same % left for the battery.
