I have version 2.21. I just purchased it.

I see the 2.33 is the Beta version. HMMMMMMMM??????????

So how do I get that?

Wow the more I mess around with this, the more lost I get. I totally understand there is a big learning curve. I might just stick with the default theme and mess around with that before I advance to a downloaded theme. I would like the XP theme though, that looks cool.

Go to http://www.ppx3k.com/ and select the "Support" tab. Enter the appropriate information and you will have an opportunity to select the Beta to download.

As for learning curve. I suggest using my WinXPSE UI. It should be familiar to you if you use XP on the desktop.

Do I need to uninstall the previous version before installing the Beta?

Yes. It is their recommendation to uninstall previous versions before installing a new version.

Ok.
I uninstalled 2.?? and now have the beta going. I FINALLY got the winxpse theme going, and yes, I do like it. I'm sure I'm not making the best use of starage space, I have all themes under program files. If I move them to the storage card will the themes continue to work or do I go thru the install of them again? I'm glad I have a long weekend to play with this program. Going from Wisbar to this is like night and day. The customization is incredible.

A couple questions.
If I tweak around with a theme and customize it, is there a way to save my changes but not alter the original theme incase I want to go back and put it back the way it was originally?
Also Under settings/interface what is the "Package" option? Its right with the install and Switch options.

Thanks for the help.

The theme gets altered as you go so you may instead just want to either: copy the theme folder and (if putting in same folder just change the folder name) then alter one and leave the other the same. Remember that the themes for PPX after they've been installed are simply folders with the files of the theme inside, so you can just make a copy and have the exact same thing.

Or keep a copy on your main computer and copy it over to reset the theme.

Hope this gives you some ideas. And before it gets asked, deleting themes is as easy as just deleting the folder of the theme, nothing else is necessary.

The package option is for packaging the themes. When selected it will bring up a file explorer that will let you browse your pocket pc folders. You locate the folder of the theme you wish to package and tap on it to highlight the folder, then tap the ok button in the upper right corner of your screen.

Next another file explorer will come up, nearly identical to the first, except that it wants to know the location where you want the packaged theme (.xui file) to be placed after packaging is finished.

You can select the folder you want to have it goto. I usually choose my storage card. Then you tap on the ok button again and it will package the theme for you and place the packaged theme (the .xui file) where you selected.

If you want to share your themes:

Then you just connect via activesync and drag and drop or copy and paste the .xui file to your desktop computer, zip it into a zip file. Then upload it with a screenshot of the theme to PPXThemes.Com for everyone to enjoy your creation.;)

Hope i explained that well enough for you, if not then feel free to email me and/or visit our forums/chat/faq/manual or post more questions here.:)
