Question Improved Notes

I have just kicked out my Palm Pilot, and replaced it w an Axim 3xi. So far i am very pleased w it, but the handling of the notes from Outlook is not as good in the standard Notes application as I would like it to be.

My main problem is that i have a huge amount of notes in Outlook that i like to carry around w me in my PDA. Because there are so many, i have gotten used to sort them by 'Categories'. That option is not available in the standard Notes application.

Does anybody know about a nice tool for 'Notes' that syncs with Outlook on the desktop, and keeps the category?

If it allows bold text and bullet points it would be a great bonus, as it is another function i have missed in PDA Notes apps.

Well with Pocket Word you can create bullets and bold text and all that other good stuff.

As for another Notes program, I'll look around...

PhatNotes lets you synchronize multiple Outlook folders. It has A LOT of other features too. But it comes at a hefty price of $30.

Thanks for the input, markprieb. Re your first suggestion (word), i agree that the formatting functions there are a lot better than Notes, but it doesnt sync w Outlook.

I will check out Phatnotes, but it will have to be pretty damn good for me to fork out 30$ for it.

Does anyone know about any freeware that does the same?

I don't think there are any freeware programs that sync your folders. Yeah, I'm also with you, I would probably not pay $30 just for a notes program.

But you could also use the folders in the notes program. If you open notes you see in the top left corner it says "all folders" click on that and you see other folders, now you can organize them like that! To put certain notes in folders, tap and hold on the note and click "rename/move". Now you can move it to another folder.
