pocket word/excel to regular word/excel

I've been searching for a way to transfer Pocket Word/Excel files to my desktop without using ActiveSync as a translator (I am a Mac user). I knew that the pocket versions would read the regular version's files, but not vice-versa.

This evening I discovered that the Pocket versions have, under the Tools menu "save as..." an option to save as in full version format! They also can take a full version file and save it as a pocket version (about 5-10 times smaller).

This seems not to be widely known (I searched the archives, and folks have complained about lack of convertability without Active/Sync. What a pleasant surprise to find the answer right under my nose!

I do not see the save as full version format, except for 97/2000. Is this what you were referring to?

Yes, that is what I was refering to. Once in 97/2000, the current version of Word will read it just fine.
