Seeking hierarchical/categorical tasks app
Hi everyone,
I've been looking for a good hierarchical task list application for a while now, and I haven't quite found what I'm looking for. My needs are fairly simple -- I basically have a list of 30 or so clients that I visit frequently, and I need to keep separate task lists for each. Sometimes tasks will have due dates, sometimes not. Sometimes I'll have a project at a particular client that requires sub-tasks, etc.
The obvious answer was Pocket Informant, which I tried -- and it actually was pretty close to what I wanted. The task manager part worked great. I especially liked that when I assigned a due date to a task it would show up in PI's calendar "Agenda" view for that day. Very helpful. But PI as a whole is slow and cumbersome on an X5 Basic with only 32mb of main memory. Even worse if I try to install it to my SD card. It's buggy and it drags the whole system down. Eventually it even started causing my X5 to lock up on a regular basis, and I just couldn't trust PI to be reliable when I needed it to be.
So I went off in search of a smaller, more lightweight task manager.
First I tried Scarybear Superlist -- it looked perfect from the screenshots. But when I actually got it installed, I discovered that it's INCREDIBLY slow. Every time I tap *anything* I have to wait at least a few seconds for it to respond. It's terrible. I promptly removed it and continued my search.
Next I found TreNotes. This doesn't seem to be specifically I task manager per se, but it's the best I've found so far. My main gripe with TreNotes is that you have to go through a few too many steps and windows just to get some simple tasks entered. I'm looking for something a bit more streamlined. Plus it seems to want to attach little icons to every single entry. I can turn them off on each item, but it's on a separate window and it's a pain.
So here's my question... who else out there in AximSite land uses hierarchical tasks, and what apps do you use? What do you like/dislike about whatever task list app you use? Anyone have any recommendations of software I could try that might work better?
Thanks!
