Downloading the Encarta Dictionary

How do I download the above dictionary?

When I click on the Encarta Pocket Dictionar (via MS website) it downloads on my desktop. But how do I download it on my Axim?

Thanks.

The Microsoft Reader does a more than sufficient job of searching your device for Ebooks. All you need to do to install the dictionary is copy the ebook onto your Axim. Generally you would put it in "My Documents" but you can really place it wherever you want. I sometimes put the more important documents (and the dictionary might count as that) onto the "Built-In Storage"--aka ROM so that it will still be there if I have to Hard reset.

The problem is that when I download Encarta Pocket Dictionary, via desktop, is not giving me an option to save the dictionary where i want too. So how can I copy it?

If nothing else, in ActiveSync click on "Explore" and then click on "My Pocket PC" and you can copy any file onto your Axim using Explorer. Also if you have a full "Standard" partnership in ActiveSync, you have the option to create a shortcut to a synchronized file folder. With the PocketPC My Documents shortcut, you can then download directly onto your Axim.

Question

Here is the problem.

When I run MS Reader on my desktop, it shows Encarta Pocket Dictionary in the Reader library and it runs fine. But so far I am unable to find out where it is actually located(so I can copy it on my Axim). I have run the search several times on my desktop but every time I get the result that it is not found.

So now I do not no how to copy or download Encarta Pocket dictionary on my Axim.

Go to the following link and download the dictionary again but be careful to specify where you want it to be placed on your desktop machine.

http://www.microsoft.com/reader/down...ctionaries.asp

Click on the Encarta link and press the "Save" button on the "File Download" window. A window titled "Save as" will appear. At the top of that window it will have a box that says "Save In." Use this box to select the location where you want it to save...it will save it wherever you tell it to.

If you click on the encarta link and it just downloads the file automatically you can right-click on the link instead and choose "Save Target As..." from the right-click menu. This should bring you to the "Save as" window where you can again specify where to put it.

Now that you have downloaded it to a known location, you should be able to move it to the Axim following earlier directions.
