Will IBM VIAVOICE for Pocket PC 2002 (Ipaq) work on the Axim? anyone try it? TIA.

I'd like to know myself. This is just what i'm looking for. Does anyone know of any voice recognition software thats compatible with the axim?

I tried it and it doesn't run. It give me a message during install that it was unable to change the registry. I suspect the IPAQ has some registry differences from the Axim.

I tried it too. It worked for me ...but its not made for the Axim and it shows. Its too much of a hassale and just wasn't convienient (i think its just cause its not the right machine since the recorder button didn't do what it was supposed to). If you want, i'll send you my copy, but just know, its not worth it. Fonix Commader is soooo much better (or so i've heard and will try later tonight...Updates at 11, ONLY on Aximsite.com...BE THERE)

I got it running on mine. Got the same error message on the registry, but it still runs. Put viavoice on the home button, instead of recorder button (which is too hard to get to frequently.) Seems to work okay, doesn't recognize allot of what I say. Either I have to train the software better or take the tobacco plug out. It's good clean fun for now. We'll see how long before it gets on my nerves and I uninstall. But should be good for listening to email while driving.

I installed the ViaVoice on my Axim and it's working well. I did get the registry error but that's due to the fact that the registry on the Axim is slightly different than on the Ipaq. After programming the record button to ViaVoice, it's working well. It's a pity I can't program the button as Push-To-Talk as opposed to Push-To-Activate since the background noise interferes with the reception. All in all, I don't mind it and it helps with using my GPS while driving. :)
