downloading from psion

help

can sombody suggest a way if any to transfer info from a psion 5mx to the axim

i have been using a psion for about 10 years lots of info on it inlcluding money (similar to quicken) i cant afford to use another pda if i cant downloand all my old info into a axim

When I converted from Psion to a Casio PDA I synchronised the Psion to a PC before installing Activesync. Some files, like data, didn’t convert to PDA format but for me that wasn’t a problem.

I'm still in the process of ensuring all that I had on my Revo is confirmed accurate on my Axim. I exported my contacts so I have to make sure all of the data has made it safely to Pocket Outlook. The Word files seemed to transfer perfectly, as did Sheet files. It converted my Jotter files into flat text files perfectly as well. Data files you have to be careful of. I had a file with all my passwords and accounts and such that I converted to Microsoft Access format. I am in the process of loading the data manually into CodeWallet Pro, and I noticed in the Access file that there was an error report. It showed that some of my fields were too long and were truncated. Now I have to fire my Revo up again, load the original Data file, and somehow copy and paste all of the data into a Word document so that it doesn't get truncated. I will not be truly happy with my Axim until I complete this transfer process...

And I'm not happy with the slow speed of Word and Excel compared to Word/Sheet on the Psion. I haven't found a Jotter-like list program for Pocket PC, so my lists are currently in Word and it is 5-10 seconds to close one file and open another. Ugh....

I just read a post on PDAGeek.com that spoke of a new Psion super-PDA being announced... Maybe by the time I've used my Axim to death, this new Psion will be available....
