Worried Synch Can't Find Outlook

I have Outlook XP installed as part of Office XP. My Activisync can not find Outlook unless Outlook is already opened. If it is not, it gives me an error message stating something like I have two folders named "C:\Program Files\Microsoft" and "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Office..."

I don't have one named only "C:\Program Files\Microsoft" but I do have several that start that way. Is this really the problem? I can't believe Microsoft Activsync can't handle a folder named Microsoft!

How do I get around this problem? Thanks in advance.

You might try upgrading Activesync to 3.6.

I am having the same problem with my Outlook. I couldn't get them to synch at all until I read your post about leaving Outlook open. I called Dell and was on hold for an hour, only to be told to call Microsoft. Microsoft told me to call Dell, unless I wanted to pay $35 an hour. If someone has an answer to this, I will be really interested. In the meantime, I just wanted you to know you are not the only one.......

This was posted by Primate, you might give it a try.

Okay, I fixed my problem. parh8er, try this site http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;224432
It solved my problem by editing the registry. You'll have to follow the links for XP. I hope this fixes it for you too!
