Question Overclocking X30 Mid

Are there any risks to overclocking my Dell Axim X30 Mid? I would love more speed (we all do), but I do not want to harm my baby.

I'm assuming that this utility is only designed for the PXA270 Processor?

XCPUScalar is the right tool for you.
Its a softmod that will incrase your CPU speed... just don't use 624MHz or over or else your PDA will get screwed up. The safest level without crashing is 540MHz (I think).
It won't kill your processor. It might stress it a bit and also you might want the power management OFF when you OC your CPU.

Overclocking it will most likely affect the life of your processor, but it could make no difference at all. THe fact is that there ARE risks and that a nominal speed increase is not worth them IMO...

Yeah but if your PDA lasts for at least five years there's no harm done. Intel's Processor Life Expectancy is 5 years.

Nah, I think you were wise by going with the high. Personally, I don't like to OC unless I have an app that really needs it, and even then, I don't go over 472 MHz on my PXA263 processor.

I guess, considering all I paid extra was the longer wait and 18 bucks :p And it ends up being faster than that would be...
but I OC my desktop... a lot. Pretty 'into it' or whatever you wanna say...
