Golf tips software

A new PDA and a new set of golf clubs. Life is good. (My swing isn't, but that's another story.)

When I used to golf years ago, I used to read the magazine tips, get out to the course and promptly forget everything I read. And since slow play leads to the death penalty at most courses, the thought of laying out magazines in front of me on the fairway or green before I swing isn't a good option.

So, I've begun a search for software that has tips and instructions that I can keep on my Dell. I could probably create my own in an HTML page and store it myself, but I'd like to see what else is available first.

I ran across http://www.pdagolfpro.com/ as about the only program that is dedicated to golf tips. But surely there's more.

I also found the following programs which are more for score tracking and what-not:

http://www.intelligolf.com/
http://www.starcaddy.com/index.cfm

StarCaddy is a little rich for me at the moment, but IntelliGolf looks interesting.

Any thoughts on these three programs or suggestions for others would be appreciated.

I bought StarCaddy at Handango using the 15% off coupon about $43 comes with one free course, so I chose my home course. I carry it with me when I play, it keeps score , give me the yardage provided that you have a GPS.

StarCaddy @ handago is $49 "downloadable". Is it usable with a standard GPS (like my Pharos)? And if you buy at Handago, do you still get a free course?

I use StarCaddy with my Holux CF GPS. If your GPS support standard or SiRF mode it should work. You can use the 15% off coupon for Handango posted in this forum and yes you do get the one free course when you buy the software from Handango. If you want to try it out, you can download the software and the sample course to test your GPS. I use my Holux in SiRF mode to get the WAAS satelitte for improved accuracy. Standing on several holes at my home course at the 150 or 100 yards marker StarCaddy will typically be within dead on or no worse than 1-2 yards off for the reading.
