CMD Command Prompt

HELP!!
I had CMD Command prompt
installed and used it all the time ... well then
I stopped using it for a few weeks and when
I went to use again today it says
"CMD Cannot start. There
are too many console
windows open. Please
close some console
applications and try again."

Only problem is NOTHING else is running!!
even after a softreset... even after a hardrset!!

I just did a hard reset, installed all my apps and
it still doesnt work, I am guessing one of the
programs I've installed recently is causing
the problem, but i cant find it... anyone
else have this problem?

Switch to the default keyboard before launching CMD.

Actually, I have this problem too. However, I found a simple solution. ( I can't gurantee that it will work for you) Go to setting, system, PocketConsole, Config, check Activate PocketConsole.
Good Luck!!

I fixed my problem long ago by copying the files to the 'windows' directory.

Further help needed please

I too have encountered this problem; "CMD cannot start" on my Axim X30. Could you please tell me which files need to be copied to the 'windows' directory. Thanks.

port.dll and console.dll.

BTW, you may also want to give a try to the Microsoft PPC Command Shell in Windows Mobile Developer Power Toys. I takes less memory and works also on VGA devices (the latest PocketConsole + CMD combo has color problems). Get it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/i...ePowerToys.msi (the homepage is at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en ). Install it and after that, go to C:\Program Files\Windows Mobile Developer Power Toys\PPC_Command_Shell\arm. Copy console.dll to \Windows on your PDA and the two other files anywhere in the file system. Then, just start cmd.exe from, say, Pocket File Explorer.
