I am looking for a registry monitor

Something that would track changes to the registry, such as when programs are installed/uninstalled. Does anyone know of a program that does this?

The only PPC registry monitor that I'm aware of is CeRegSpy.

It's kind of overpriced for its simplicity, IMHO, at $35. But if you're wanting it for development/debugging purposes, it should pay itself off rather quickly.

Keep in mind though, that I have not tried this piece of software. I have only talked to one person who has used it, and it got the job done for him.

Thanks, I'm looking at the trial version now. Not really what I had in mind but I realize my options are limited. I was thinking more along the lines of something that would take 'snapshots' of the registry. These 'snapshots' would then be compared for differences. Do you suppose this could be done by simply exporting the registry and then using a separate application to analyze the reg files as text documents?

Well, since it sounds like you're about to re-invent the wheel it seems a good idea to chime in with a link and save you some trouble. S_K released the freewares 'IDiffCE' and 'sSnap' a long time ago, and between them they save registry states and analyse differences between saved states. I tried them once. Lost interest very quickly, as the masses of changes were a bit overwhelming just in a few days of playing around with installs and settings. But this is the best (and cheapest) way to go for what you are after.

S_K has an English page, linked at the top of that Russian one, but download from the Russian page as the links are more reliably available. Same versions, just on an account with better bandwidth limits.

Excellent and thanks for not holding back any longer; I was just about on my way down to the patent office! These two combined are pretty close to what I had in mind and should work for my purposes.
