Programs on SD card showing up in storage memory

I have several multimedia and gaming apps (PocketMusic, Resco Picture Viewer, Adobe Acrobat Reader) installed on my SD card, and run them from that location.

I am noticing that after running the app, it shows up as a 'running program' in storage memory. This is even after closing the app out using the switcher bar.

Any thoughts? I half-expect that since the application was recently run on the device, that the Axim 'thinks' this program is in storage memory, although it is really on the SD card. Is this the case?

Thanks in advance,

Neil

Ok, lots of terms thrown in there, so I'm a little confused.

Are you saying that when the program has been stopped with Switcher bar, that it still shows up in Start>Settings>System>Memory>Running Programs as a running program?

If that is the case, it isn't really stopped, it's still running. Try stopping it from that menu and see if it goes away. If it does, something is wrong with Switcher.

BTW, just to be clear, "Storage Memory" is where programs are stored similar to the SD Card, so that is what confused me. To see what is in Storage Memory, you use File Explorer or something similar, not the tools to see running programs. So if the installation uses any part of the Storage Memory for files, it would be expected to see something there, even if the main program is kept on the SD card.

JakeRich, thanks for the speedy reply...

The programs are not showing up under Start>Settings>System>Memory>Running Programs, but rather under the menu you get by selecting the "Remove Programs" option from there. Here, I see listings for all these programs in "Storage Memory" that I have installed on my SD card. Essentially, any program that has been run from the card shows up there.

I suspect that it is a case of "Storage Memory" requiring one or more smaller files to run the program, and that the bulk of the application is indeed stored on the SD card.

Thanks,

Neil

The Remove Programs function will list all programs you have installed, even those on the SD card, so they should be there. There are some programs that don't have dynamic installation and even if you choose the SD card they install to the RAM memory. But you get to see those with File Explorer, not through running or installed program lists.
