MSReader activation trouble

When I attempt to ativate MSReader to download purchased ebooks the microsoft activation site tells me I have a version of OS earlier than Pocket PC 2002. Now we know that's not true! That is all Dell shipped with. I have 2 Axims. My newer one is Advanced and it activated OK. The second Axim was the cheaper version purchased earlier and it's the one that won't activate.
HELP!

Second problem - trying to download the ebooks from Amazon onto the Ax that is activated gives me an error message that keeps saying I need to activate MSReader in order to download!!
It shows Activated.
Any help??

Have had the same problem, tried getting help from MS. Received a canned reply.

After trying several times have given up. Have been suprised by the number of 3rd party readers out there.

Have had a lot of fun trying them out.

Good site to find out what readers are available too.

Thanks Javajunk. Will check out the site. Will it read the copyprotected books from Amazon etc.? Will the 3rd party reader allow me to download the copy protected books from Amazon?

Are you downloading to your desktop PC first?
Is your default email address still the same as that listed on the coversheet for MS reader?

Yes, I was trying to download the ebooks from the desktop PC with the AX synched. The Ax that was activated - I was on that PC and using that email address that appeared as activated on the opening screen.

I would like to download some from another computer (home) and could log in with the other email address but it won't allow any to download onto any pc with either Ax from either email address. Why would it keep saying that the Ax (unactivated) has an earlier version of the operating system? I check both Axeds and they both have the identical system down to the same build number.:rolling:

OK - 12th times a charm !!! (regarding activation of MSReader)

Didn't do anything different-just waited about 6 hours and did the same thing 5 more times and it finally activated.. Go figure??

Now - Problem 2. Still can't download the Amazon books. Trying to use the PC and I assume it would synch over to the Axim. Am I wrong?
I have never used the Ax to get on the web and don't know how to set it up to do it. I assume you can do it through the PC with Active Synch. I'm struggling here. All help is appreciated. This is the first pda I've owned so just a newbie trying to figure things out.

Memoware is good, but limited. A better source for me is Project Gutenberg. I convert these files to .lit format with the free MS Reader Converter.

Just my two cents worth
