I do this every day. Just connect to the network share where you have your wma or wmv files and stream away. They work best when you have the WiFi Power Management disabled :)

Sure, please tell me what you are using to connect to your file share. Are you using the integrated File Explorer, or a third party file explorer?

Wooch, same here. From within WMP is can't find anyway to highlight my network shares. It just tries to list local playlists. I don't get it.

Just use a file explorer like Total Commander (FREE) or Resco File Explorer (NOT FREE). (Make sure you have set file shaering of the files and drives you want to stream). Input your PC's name into the address bar and you should be able to view the files/drives you have setup to share.
For example: if your PC's name is “Home” you would input "\\HOME\" (without the quotations!!).
Best of luck!

Yes, but can't you select and open up a network share and file name from within WMP. You need this if file extension is not associated with WMP.

I didn't say anything about going directly through WMP to stream media.
Do as I stated above and when you click on a movie or MP3 associated with WMP it will automatically open up WMP on your Axim and stream it.
Now get to it! :approve:

Oh so you can not do this without downloading a program to open file for wmp. I can not open any files on my network shares. Where do I find total commander at.

The above doesn't work unless the file asso ciation is not with WMP. And right now, I don't want to change my assoc. from betaplay to WMP. Any workaround that anyone knows??

I only have wmp installed on my ppc and it still does not work. i shouldn't have to associate wmv and wma with a program that was designed to play them or do I.

Sorry, what I meant was that you navigate to the file share using File Exploer or a third part File Browser, then you double tap the wmv or wma file to launch it. Then, it will open the file on Pocket Media Player. :) And yes, wma and wmv files should be automatically associated with WMP. unless you installed a 3rd party player and allowed it to associate windows media files with it.
