Uh-oh window media player

I just started having problems with windows media player. when I try to play any of my songs it says something like "The license for this file cannot be found, use windows media player on your pc to copy the file sto your device again."

I had just removed several programs and deleted some files but I didn't think any of it would mess up windows media player. so, does anyone know what I did and how to fix it. is windows media player mobile even available for download?

Sounds like you recorded the songs in WMA format with DRM (digital rights management) enabled. Those songs are now copy protected and you will have to jump through hoops to use them on anything but the machine they were recorded on. Also, you mentioned deleting some things...if one of those things was the folder containing your DRM licenses, you won't even be able to play those on your computer let alone transfer them to your PocketPC. Your best bet is to rip the music again with copy protection off.

No, use a program such as CD-EX or itunes with mp3 ripping enabled and then use windows explorer to put them on your axim. Skip WMP entirely. DRM is horrible and we shouldn't have to deal with it.
