For general news about PocketPCs, as well as an Axim forum, I read www.pocketpcthoughts.com. For software, I look on www.freewareppc.com and www.tucows.com. If you read French, I've found ppcf.mklabs.com/index.php to be very comprehensive (stuff I haven't seen elsewhere) and it has a good, albeit idiosyncratic, summary of each program's strengths and weaknesses.
