I never really backed up my older Pocket PC and I don't want to make the same mistake with the new X30H I just orderd. What is a good backup utility program? How exactly do you use it? If I backup all of my info to a SD card on my X30H, about what size SD card should I buy if I'm using it strictly for backups?
.
. HERE's how I have my Sprite Premium configured.
In my BIS I only have a most basic backup. Just enough to get my Axim back in a useable state, for me. If I were to have to use the OEM Configuration of the Axim......I would have to revert back to Complete Newbie Stage. I have no idea how to navigate in an OEM PPC Configuration.
My "Basic Configuration" contains User Info, SnoopSoft DashBoard (configured), GigaBar (configured) and StarTap+. These are the changes to the OEM Config that I have used on every PPC I've owned. Like I said, without them......I AM Lost! So I know I can always get back to something I can use, but since I rarely remove my SD Card, should I need to, I can always go back one or two days for a Restore.
And I copy my SD Card (via a card reader), to my PC and Laptop once a week.
Never had to use it yet, on my X5 400/A04. But just happy to know it's there if I need it.

I used to use startap + and gigabar but for some reason he quit making updates to the beta. Kinda weird though the board still exist and he will answer questions now and then.
Isn't there a 20 or 25% discount deal going on at PocketGear? :approve:

I have recommended Sprite Backup (Pro) so many times on Aximsite that they should pay me. Unfortunately they don't, but I will keep recommending it. It is backup on steroids. :approve:
I just picked up sprite backup yesterday using the 5back promo code. It's a great program. Does anyone know if you can back up the contents of your SD card using Sprite backup?
I think for automatic backup/restore Sprite is great. I tried it to see if I would like it (go to their site they have a 30 day trial), and I thought it was great.......but....
I really did not think it was worth it for me, since I kind of understand what I need to do myself to be able to restore within a day (which is sufficient for me). I keep all my apps on my work and home computer, organized so I can quickly reinstall everything; also, all the data I need is on memory cards (which don't get lost if the main memory crashed or a hard reset occurs. Everything in main memory is restored through Active sync. <<< this is probably a bit much for most people to do, but it suits me.
