Outlook Appending '+1' to Phone Numbers

Hi All,

I converted my Palm addy book to Outlook via an Excel csv file. In both my Palm and Excel, the phone numbers look like:

(207) 555-1234

And when looking at them in Cotnacts in either Outlook or the Axim, they look the same.

However, in Outlook, whenever I highlight a phone number or try and save an existing contact, I get a popup window that barks at me about number being messed up (something more techie than that but you get the drift) and then when I click okay, the phone number displays as:

+1 (207) 555-1234

And syncs as this 'new' version.

This is fscking annoying to say the least. I check all the usual places to see if I could somehow flag all my numbers as international, or that i wanted such litter added to my phone numbers but no luck.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Outlook uses your dialing properties and its own custom dialing options to format numbers based on certain criteria. In Outlook with your contacts screen displayed, click on the "Actions" menu and select "Call contact", then select "New call". In that dialog click on the "Dialing options" button. See if the checkbox for "Automatically dial country code" is checked. If so, uncheck it. You can also check your "dialing properties" here as well. Hope that helps.

Wow

Would have never thought to look there...
Sadly it was unchecked. My dialing rules all point to my home area code.

Man, I hate msft software sometimes.

Thanks!
