Mad Big time sync problems

I wish I never purchased this Dell Axim. The support is horrible!

When I sync, duplicate entries are created in my Microsoft Outlook calender. I can not figure out why or prevent it from happening. After I went through and manually deleted all the extra duplicate entries, it did it again when I re-synced.

Also, my Axim will not sync with Avantgo. It just keeps trying but nothing happens. Eventually, I have to remove the Axim from the cradle to stop it.

Can anyone help me, Please!:rolling:

I'll offer what I can as I have had problems sync'ing and with Avantgo, but managed to overcome both.

Let's start with Avantgo. Go to the Avantgo site and download the latest greatest software and re-install it on the Ax and PC. Open the control panel and make sure Avantgo is looking at your Windows CE device. If you're behind a fire wall make sure you've entered your proxy info correctly. On the PC, the Avantgo utility (in the Control Panel) will test your connection. Play with it until your successful.

As for doubling up your calendar entries, I'm not sure how to fix this beyond making sure your sync "rules" are set properly. Under the "options" tab in ActiveSync, set your rules so that your PC overwrites the Ax. Under this scenario if you edit an item on both the PC and the Ax between syncs, the PC version wins and will overwrite the Ax. Not perfect, but it may resolve the duplicate problem.

Thanks MW for your help. I cleared out the entries in my calendar and my contacts. I loaded ActiveSync 3.6 and reloaded the most recent Avantgo software.

When I synced with my Axim, the new ActiveSync 3.6 and Avantgo software loaded and everything synced properly. Then at the end, the ActiveSync asked about the duplicate entries in my Outlook and gave me an option to delete them. It deleted all the duplicate entries and re-synced the calendar.

Everything looks right now. Thanks for your recommendations.

Try this freeware to remove Outlook duplicates:

One warning, if you have two legitimate identical names it will delete one of them.

It's still a great way to avoid all that cutting....
