Resco File Explorer and Directory Depth

As I understand it, PocketPC will not allow you to add folders more than one level deep under the "my documents" folder (the one that is sync'd to the PC).

However, when I use Total Commander or Resco File Explorer, those utilities are more than happy to let you add folders as deep as you want. What gives? Does this actually work?

When I tried this, the ActiveSync had no problem sync'ing the added folders - at first. Upon future syncs, ActiveSync stopped sync'ing my files and returned an error. This was corrected by eliminating the deeper folders and returning to my original file structure.

I may have answered my own question on file depth, but what I don't understand is how a slick tool such as Resco's File Explorer would have such a flaw built into it.
