Will Contact Breeze&Pocket Informant conflict

Will contact breeze and the contacts portion (of PI)conflict?
Don't these two programs have the same function but do it in different ways?
Is there a point to having both? if so what is it?

Thanks,
RC

Doesn't Contact Breeze just pull it'd data from your default contact app? That's all Pocket Breeze does.

Contact Breeze knows how to hook into PI. You should check out their forum as www.sbsh.net/forums

Definitely not - in fact PB extends the usefulness of PI by allowing you to dial using bluetooth from the today screen (it loads up the PI information of the contact chosen and uses PI's bluetooth dialler).

Go for it :approve:

Doesn't Pocket Informant do this too? Mine does.

Great, thanks for all the replies...so basically if you already have PB and PI, all contact breeze does is bring up the contact info (in PI format) on the today screen?

Yep, but it beats having to ave PI running all the time. Anyhow, you're able to retrieve contact & appointment s much more quickly . . .

From the today screen? - my copy of PI doesn't

Also agree with Wooch - even when it brings up the PI Contact screen it doesn't actually load PI - making it alot quicker, plus sequential search makes it worth its money on its own (I have over 600 contacts and only being able to use the starting letter in PI makes this rather slow - with a lot of scrolling).

Another question. Once you are using Pocket Breeze, do you ever go into Pocket Informant? Is there any need to? Same question for Contact Breeze.

Yes,

For a start PB displays the information that PI has created itself, such as:
- appointments (along with attached notes)
- CB shows the PI contacts information
- Also for bluetooth dialing on my phone
- Also if you select new appointment or edit appointment in PB it opens PI for you to be able to add them.

If you are asking if I ever open PI itself (ie from its own icon) again, yes:

- To use notes
- View calendars (especially graphical overviews and to find distant appointments)
- Use search (much more powerful than in PB)
- Take screenshots (it has an excellent screenshot utility)
- Manage my categories

I am sure there are other reasons why, that I can't think off at the moment. Hope this helps.

Great, Thanks. I just haven't used either of these programs much yet, but I can see the need for calendars, notes, etc. Makes sense. I am sure, with further use, that I will find needs for PI.

Good luck.

PI is one programme that I recommend that you actually read the manual (with your PDA with in front of you) to get the greatest benefit :approve:
