Outlook and Synchronizing

Ok, wizards, here is the challenge for today:

I sync my Axim with Outlook and through Commontime's mnotes, with Lotus Notes. I work for a large company (international) and I have large companies as my subcontractor (also international). I get meeting invitations mostly in Lotus Notes that include addressees and attendees by the ten's of thousands (teleconferences, telebriefings, etc). When I sync them with Commontime, they come to my Axim just fine. When I try to sync them with Activesync to Outlook, they end up unresolved because the addressees are not in the Contacts list. I don't want to have a couple of hundred thousand contacts in my Contacts db. I've searched the options in Outlook and done a google search for this problem and found nothing. I couldn't find anything in the MS database, either.

So, wizards, how does one sync a meeting for which you do not have contacts names in the Contacts database? I'm sure it's something simple and I'll endup like this but for now I'm stumped.

From the deafening silence do I take it that this is not a solvable problem?
