file attachments in MS Outlook

Not an Axim problem, but I'm sure my friends here are considerable cheaper (and more accurate than MS!!)

When I try to send file attachments in MS Outlook, such as an excel or word file, it always converts it to winmail.dat instead of the file I sent. Obvious problems with file association, etc, so is there some change I need to change in my Outlook setup? Outlook Express sends it fine, but I would like to use Outlook as my primary email sender. Crazy question - but are you trying to attach a file directly from the PPC to the outlook or are you convertiong it BACK from the Pocket Word, Pocket Excel format to the standard MS Word MS EXcel format FIRST via the Active Sync Explorer translate function?

Every version of Outlook I have used from Office 95 on has maintained the format and file extension of the source attachment just fine...

The file(s) is on my home PC and using Outlook on the same PC. Using Windows98. Same problem each time ONLY on this PC, so I'm sure its something to do with my Outlook settings on this machine.
