Purchased my first ever Sprite Backup-Standard Edition and it will not install

Help please! I've read many posts about the values of having a great program like Sprite Backup. I wanted to keep my Axim X50v files & programs protected so I decided to purchase my first copy (Dec.03/04) of Sprite Backup-Standard Edition (ver 3.1.3) ...After downloading the file to my PC I tried to install to the X50v having it connected to ActiveSync, but when I hit the .exe file to run, it got as far as the Install Wizard (first screen)then when I go and hit the "next" button it brings up an error message reading: SpriteBackupEnglishStandardHandangoSetup caused a general protection fault in module <unknown> at 0000:825b096e. I have e-mailed Handango as well as Sprite regarding what has happened and to date have not received any response back from them? Does anyone know if running Win98 could be the problem? Why not just say up front that Sprite Backup will not run on Win98 OS if that is the case? I wish they would respond back for my e-mail to them has far exceeded the 48 hrs. they request to get back to consumers. I hope I can still receive a refund if all else fails. Anyone have any insights? I appreciate this site and all who help make it what it is...A GREAT RESOURCE! :approve: Thanks to all for any help!

Perhaps try their support forums. They seem quite responsive there. Email support isn't part of their current model, I think.

I donot have a x50 but why not use the backup that is on the system if they have one it can save you money .but i will try contact handango about this if they cannot do anything about you problem at lease make them aware that it a problem with there software and they can let the comsumer that it will not work on 98 computer if they are a honest company

I would try contacting Sprite support again. I have received excellent support from them in the past and this may be just a flukey thing. Use this link to create a username and you will receive personalized assistance that is web-based (i.e., answers to questions will be posted on their site and not emailed to you):
