why not, Calligrapher by it self has an option to set it as the default input method. You dont need Tweask2k2 to do that.

Let's put it in this way. The VGA Brute force option in Tweaks2K2 tells the program, hey guy, your screen size is 480x640. That's all. If the program does not know what to do with that information it does what you described so well. If the program knows what to do with the information supplied by that hack it will react like Acrobat Reader react to give you an example.
