Arm vs mips software

I have not been able to find a good explination of the difference between the two processor configurations and what that means to the Axim user. If software is designated as either arm or mips, will they both run on the Axim or is the difference in the way you load them into the Axim.

Also, when copying an arm software into the Axim can you copy it into any memory, SD or local or does the program have to be loaded into the "start" menu?

The Axim's Xscale250 processor is based on the Strongarm architecture that Intel has created and still creating with newer chips.
When you install programs, it will ask you if you want to install in the default directory but you can choose to install into the memory cards.

Thanks for the quick response. I still have a question in my mind.

What does that mean then for software offerings. Will all of the ones designated as pocket pc work on the axim or does it have to be specifically for strongarm?

Either Pocket PC applications or Arm(StrongArm) will work with the Axim. And so far I've had no problems. :)

As far as I know, the Axim can run software that is designed for Arm, StrongArm, and X-Scale. It can not run any others.
