Apparently it isn't essential or even necessary. I asked a similar question not too long ago. I was told that there are no live viruses for pocket pc. I am pleased about this because I tried McAffee and hated it. I'n not convinced that it was working properly anyway

Actually, there have been a few viruses targeted at PDA's in the past. Some quick research on the internet will give the history. With the increased use of PDAs, and the sync'ing of them to desktops and servers, I can only imagine viruses becoming more of a problem in the future.

There is good antivirus software on the market that is free, and updates are provided as needed. I use Airscanner A/V on my PDA. I don't, however, bother with firewall software.

The firewall should be incorporated within the router (NAT) Network Address Translation.

If I can ask a question, is the danger of infection of the PDA or that the PDA will be the means of spreading the infection?

Thanks

right now, neither(no real viruses yet).

my biggest fear is that the PDA will be the target of a new virus, although both scenarios are possible in the future...
