Cool Axim x50v/x50mid HOT FINDS!!!!!

Hey all, I'm gonna start a thread for Hot Finds for Apps and Games! I know alot of us spend endless hours fiddling with our ppc's and are on the net constantly. I'm finding really cool stuff for the x50's either shareware or freeware as I go. Let's share our treasures and support the smaller developers too!

Here's one:

Avantgo? forget it, I found a great software that's fast and very configurable for a "sync" reader:

App: Plucker Desktop
Description: This is a windows or linux or mac desktop app for offline reading, nice thing about this app is that it's very configurable and fast. And best of all, it's free!

App: Vade Mecum Plucker Reader
Description: You'll need this to read the files exported from the Plucker Desktop app above. It's fast, easy and very configurable as well. Also can be used as a ebook ready for prc, pdb files, so if you're an ex-palm user, you'll know how useful this app can be.

Install Notes:
When you install the desktop plucker app, make sure you don't install the Palm sync conduit, uncheck that and later on when the program is installed, it will give you an option to install the export files into any directory, I just pointed that to my X50v's My Document folder on my desktop, so when it updates the offline web sites you added, it will automatically sync into the axim's My Documents folder and list it in the Vade Mecum viewer, wala!

I use to love Avantgo, but I'm finding their latest version super sluggish and blurred on the vga screens, they now have their own "browser" for the files and it's that bad it's pushed me towards an alternative. I think Plucker is what a real offline viewer should be, fast and easy!

Only disadvantage with plucker is that it doesn't allow wireless options so any hyperlinks won't work even if you're on the net, unless you've configured the depth level of the url. No biggie, I never utilized that feature in Avantgo anyways.

Keep this thread going with your AWESOME findings!

Good PDA'ing!

Mini
