Question Memmaid reports BIS as Being RAM

When I use memaid's Storage Usuage feature it classifies Built-in Storage as RAM. I thought BIS was ROM. Am I wrong or is Memmaid?

I see this when I use the Storage Usage feature.

When I set the Storage Usage - Memory Usage Setting to Show Files in RAM, MemMaid displays the BIS folder and shows about 4.5mb of space being used. I can explore all of the files stored in BIS.

When I set the Storage Usage - Memory Usage Setting to Show Files in ROM, MemMaid displays the BIS folder and shows 0mb of space being used. MemMaid shows 0 files in BIS and there is nothing that may be explored.

When I set the Storage Usage - Memory Usage Setting to Show Files in ROM and RAM, MemMaid displays the BIS folder and shows 4.5mb of space being used.

I know that these files are in BIS but MemMaid appears to misclassify all BIS files as being RAM. I thought BIS was ROM.

Oh,
That explains it.
Actually maybe we should reword the RAM/ROM option
here is how it works

Showing files in ROM, will show you the files "marked" ROM (i.e. can never be deleted)
RAM is everything else

We'll try to find a better naming for this feature/option.

Thanks

Shoot the OEM"s need to find a better name. ROM=Read Only Memory, If you can write to it how is that Read Only?

Thank you for the reply DinarSoft. I was worried that I might have been losing my mind!!

If you decide to rename perhaps you could title the two types of memory as 64MB SDRAM and 128MB Intel StrataFlash® ROM. While that would work for the Dell Axims, I am sure that there are users with other manufacturer's PDAs so this may not be the ideal.

I agree with Don't Panic - the OEMs calling writeable memory "ROM" is a misnomer.

Thanks again. MemMaid is a Great Product!!
