Remote Keyboard Issue
Has anyone used aprogram called Remote Keyboard? It allows you to use your PC keyboard and mouse on your PPC when it is in the cradle OR when it is connected to a WLAN.
I installed it at home last night and it worked great, even out of the cradle on the WLAN.
HOWEVER, this I have not been able to connect to my WLAN at work today. It worked fine yesterday (before installing Remote Keyboard). I have tried resetting everything and still can not get it to connect.
Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a setting in Remote Keyboard somewhere tht has me "locked" onto my home WLAN??
Thanks

can you spell out the problem better kjmcglinch?
I have used remote keyboard via wlan on desktops at home and work and it has been ok (i think I had to tweak some of the settings). Can you not connect to the work wlan at all? or just not connect to remote keyboard on your work desktop?
If it is the former, I would suggest deleting the existing settings for your work wlan and then adding it back in.

My issue is that since installing Remote Keyboard, I can connect to my home WLAN, but not at the office. I have tried deleting the connection information and starting over, but the Axim keeps cycling through "scan(n)ing networks" and "connecting to network", but never actually connects.
When I got home last night, it found and connected to my home WLAN just fine.
I haven't tried deleting Remote Keyboard yet to see if that does the trick. That's my next step.

OK - Someone is messing with me now! I just fired up the Axim and it connected (actually faster than I have ever seem it connect)! I know it is connected because I just pulled up a couple of web pages.
I have not yet uninstalled Remote Keyboard. Now for the big test, to see if I can get Remote Keyboard working here, and get on my WLAN back home tonight. I'll let you know!

Remote Keyboard worked like a champ. Now if my Axim connects to my WLAN at home tonight, I'll be sylin' (and typin' with a regular keyboard into my Axim!)

Follow-Up - Got home and after cycling my wireless off then on again, the Axim connected to my home WLAN with no problem!
Since it appears that my connection problems earlier might have been some kind of anomoly, I would DEFINITELY recommend Remote Keyboard - It is free and is much easier to use for emails and other documents with a lot of typing when I am near a regular PC. It also lets you use a regular mouse! BTW - best part - it's free!

My biggest timesaver using Remote Keyboard comes when I'm installing all my software and I can just copy and paste all the passwords from the desktop.

To copy and paste, you right click in the Remote Keyboard desktop area, then press Ctrl-V. It's the same keyboard shortcut that's built into Windows. Just remember, you copy and paste from the desktop to the PDA, not reverse. No way to do that.
