This project started primarily as a proof of concepy and is still very much still work in progress. This application will discover via Rendezvous any iTunes running on Macs or PCs on your local network and allow you to browse the library or playlist and then stream MP3s directly to your PDA. Example uses include connecting your PDA headphone jack into a stereo in another room in your house (I have mine streaming music to the bathroom).



Its only been tested on Pocket PC 2003 and 2003 SE. It won't work on 2002 because Rendezvous depends on mDNS in Winsock2, which is not available. I plan on updating it to allow the entry of a static IP to your itunes server (will also allow connection over the internet), and when that happens you will need the .NET compact framework installed.

Will this work to just find a shared directory of .mp3 files and play them from the source?

I just downloaded this and can't wait to give it a try. From reading the download page, the main problem right now is that it won't play more than one song in a row. Is that correct? If so, what's the ETA on playing whole playlists?

Now make it so you don't need to use iTunes, which is a garbage program. Just make it stream MP3's from a directory...

I think you're kind of missing the point here. I'd much rather use my iTunes database to find songs than try to dig through my 4,000+ track collection manually.

This looks great, I can't wait to try it out.
